House Approves Funding for Critical Pinal County Transportation Infrastructure Project
The Arizona House of Representatives has approved a bill sponsored by Representative David Cook, HB 2394, which supports development of the proposed North-South Corridor highway project that would improve transit in the Pinal County region and serve residents in the San Tan and East Valley areas.
"The North-South Corridor highway is a long-needed project serving the transportation needs in Pinal County and our state," said Representative Cook. "I appreciate the bipartisan backing of my House colleagues and hope those in the Senate will join us in supporting the bill."HB 2394 appropriates $4 million to pay for a tier 2 study of the proposed North-South Corridor highway project in Pinal County. Additionally, it provides $750,000 to the County to supplement a local match to acquire over $15 million in federal grant money to fund road and infrastructure improvements which would increase access to the area around the Nikola Motors plant.
The bill now moves to the State Senate for consideration.
