The Florence Unified School District sent out the following letter to families regarding the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
We are less than a week away from the start of the 2020-2021 school year, and the pandemic remains a very fluid situation, but today the Governor has given us hope that the number of cases are beginning to decline. I am optimistic that I will be able to welcome our students back into our school buildings in the near future.
This past week, teachers have attended virtual curriculum training, class schedules are being created, and some of our sports teams are on the field practicing. I am proud of the leadership at FUSD, especially the Return to Learn Task Force that has designed a Distance Learning plan so that our students can begin learning new content.
Principals have been in contact with families and have shared pertinent information regarding class schedules, laptop pickup and the start of the Grab & Go meal program. If you have not connected with your student's school administrator or teacher, please contact them via email or phone. Also, the FUSD website has been updated to provide quick portals for parents to register their students and access information regarding the Distance Learning plan. www.fusdaz.com
I want us all to remain positive so that we can exemplify the character traits we want our students to learn. Our level of commitment must remain high in order to achieve remarkable results in our students' education. Although we are physically distanced, let's stay socially connected to our kids!
