San Tan Valley Safety Improvements to Come

Pinal County Public Works has received $1.4 million in federal funding through the Highway Safety Improvement Program to provide safety improvements at various intersections in San Tan Valley and areas that used to be in San Tan Valley, but have been annexed into the Town of Queen Creek.

The funding will provide for the following areas:

  • Flashing yellow arrow signals on Hunt Highway at Gary Road, the Walmart East Driveway, and Bella Vista Road.
  • Median modifications to improve negative offset left turns on Hunt Highway at Gary Road and the Walmart East and West Driveways.
  • Flashing yellow arrow signals on Gantzel Road at Ocotillo Road and Combs Road
  • Median modifications to improve negative offset left turns on Gantzel Road at Ocotillo Road and Combs Road
  • Installation of a raised median on Combs Road from Gantzel Road to 250 feet west of Gantzel Road
  • Installation of a sidewalk on the west side of Gantzel Road from Chandler Heights Road to 250 feet south of Via De Arboles

It is anticipated that these improvements will significantly reduce the number of serious injury crashes on these two roadway segments.

More information on construction schedules will be provided at a later date.
